The Woodmonster race is back on Father’s day with a new Start/Finish, a new distance, and the Woodmonster Climb has been preserved!

The race starts and finishes at the Chabot Space & Sciences Center, Oakland. This beautiful and challenging course is 10 miles, with plenty of hills and single track trails! The infamous Woodmonster climb is a given of course!!!

WE WILL HAVE REGISTRATION OPEN ON RACE DAY! You can email the race director: woodmonsterxc@gmail.com

Since the East Bay Regional  Parks no longer allow races to start from Canyon Meadow, the new start is at Chabot Space & Science Center. The good news is that we're back up to our old field size of 250 runners and we're able to restore our club race competition. The race still maintains it's reverse age handicap system.

If you can not race, please consider volunteering. We will need help marking the course, pre-running, checking-in, monitoring the course, and sweeping the course.

We will host several previews of the course with LMJS Sunday Trail runs and the Wednesday night Transports trail runs. We will keep you updated on those events through the Woodmonster Trail Race facebook group: Woodmonster Facebook.  LMJS is hosting a Trail Training Program that starts May 9: Register here.

TEAM COMPETITION:

The team with the most finishers  will  be recognized and awarded 4 comped entries for Woodmonster 2025.

WOODMONSTER HILL CLIMB CHALLENGE:

The Woodmonster is one of the toughest climbs in the East Bay. It is difficult, it is steep, it is glorious. To spice up the already zesty Woodmonster race, this is a fun premium to the fastest men’s and women’s times up the 0.8 mile Transports Woodmonster Climb. Even if you finish 250th  overall, you can still win by getting yourself up the hill faster than everyone else. Click for more info: Woodmonster Hill Climb Info
