LMJS is so excited to once again offer the official training program of the Oakland Running Festival's marathon and half marathon! We have helped thousands of runners prepare for and enjoy our hometown celebration of running, as well as other spring races. Whether you're training for your first half marathon or your fifteenth marathon, this program will help you fulfill your goals and keep you motivated.
The marathon training program begins Monday, November 15, 2021, and the first group run will be Saturday, November 20, 2021. To be best ready to go, marathon training participants are highly encouraged to be running *at least* 20 miles/week in November, before starting the program.
The half marathon training program begins Monday, December 27, 20121, and the first group run will be Sunday, January 2, 2022 at 8:00am. Note: Group runs aside from the first one will be on Saturdays. To be best ready to go, participants are highly encouraged to be running at least 12 miles/week before beginning training. Half marathon training participants are also encouraged to start running with the group when the marathon training begins (running shorter distances as appropriate).
