This class is recommended for runners who have been running for at least 6 months and want to improve their race times. The emphasis will be on how to train to run faster. Each class will include a track workout designed to improve your ability to run at maximum effort. During each class session, a brief discussion covering the elements of a training program will be discussed during our workout. The class will cover running topics such as the different types of workouts and their benefits related to race distances. We will do dynamic warm-up drills, a workout and stretching with LMJS race team helpers. We’ll be incorporating an actual 5k race into the program, the LMJS 4SR in Aug and 2 track meets! We’ll cover topics about being race ready, more on speed and nutrition and how to prepare for our goal race together.
What's special about our class
Runners are divided into pace groups with a pace group leader who is running at a comfortable pace, so they can be available to assist and be there for the runners in their group. This year's pacer have all been pacers in the past. We can accommodate all paces with some notice, so sign up early for us to better suit your needs!
