We hope you are excited to start training! We are looking forward to meeting you Saturday, 11/22/14, at See Jane Run in Rockridge (5817 College Ave, Oakland, CA 94618) at 8:00 a.m. See Jane Run is just a couple blocks north of the Rockridge BART Station. You can park at the BART station.
Marathon trainees will run 8 miles. Half marathoners are also encouraged to join us for a 4 to 6 mile run (the half marathon program officially starts 1/3/15). We will gather at 8:00 and start running by 8:15.
We will have plenty of pacers and coaches available to help you find the right pace group. Don’t be shy. This is your training program so please help us help you by telling us your goal and a recent race time if you have one. You can use that race time to determine your training paces by using the VDOT calculator at http://www.runbayou.com/jackd.htm (don’t worry if you have no idea what VDOT means). Your long run training pace will be about one to 1½ minutes per mile slower than your current predicted race pace. No recent race time? No worries – we will help you find the right pace for your long runs.
