BEGINNING RUNNING CLASS - coming soon!
LMJS will be offering a beginning running class to help you get ready to run/jog/walk a 5K! This program is designed for those who want to work up to running 3.1 miles, a 5K.
Training sessions begin on Wednesday, September 13 and will be held for six consecutive Wednesdays, from 6:00pm - 7:30pm.
Our Wednesday runs will take place at the beautifull Lake Merritt, in Oakland. We'll meet at the green grassy area between Bellevue Ave and Grand Ave. across from Fairyland. The class will culminate with a totally fun 5K race(optional) at Lake Merritt, to be held on Sunday, October 22 (race fee extra).At each class, we'll cover topics such as running shoes, running form, safety, injury prevention, hydration and nutrition.
We'll provide training schedules, maps, and lots of encouragement. You'll need to come ready to run every Wednesday with a water bottle and towel for the end.
Also, we provide plenty of shared online documents and resources to keep you engaged during class and after.
This training is appropriate for anyone who wants to work up to a 5K and for those who haven't run for awhile and want to begin again. Registration required for this program, with a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20 participants, to keep things safer.
