Lake Tahoe Relays
LMJS has participated in this event since the Club’s inception and it is part of our tradition. The Tahoe Relays is always held the 2nd Saturday in June and recently celebrated its 40th anniversary. The race consists of 7-person teams racing around Lake Tahoe (72 miles), with each person running approximately 10 miles. However, each leg varies in its topography and scenery, with some legs featuring uphill climbs and others a downhill descent. There are also some legs basically flat with very little variation in elevation. It is a unique experience and many LMJS’ers have done it for a number of years. It provides for a weekend getaway to a beautiful spot, where you can mix running with relaxation, plus enjoying the camaraderie of other Club members. Team divisions include open, masters, seniors, veterans and mixed (3 and 4 mixed gender teams). For more information go to the
race website
