This Saturday (tomorrow) I'm running from
Bort
Meadow at Lake Chabot tomorrow at 9. Thanks to Michele Jordan for recommending this one! I have a map for a 7.2 mile trail keyhole type from the Trail Runner's guidebook that I want to check out, but you can adjust this to any distance you'd like to run. The book says it's mostly on fire trails with one single track section, and that there are bathrooms and water available a quarter of a mile north of the trailhead. There should be some beautiful views of the surrounding valleys and these trails should be peaceful and uncrowded.
Directions:
From Highway 13, take the Redwood Rd exit. Head east on Redwood Rd. Cross Skyline Blvd and continue on Redwood Rd. Where Pinehurst Rd veers left, stay right on Redwood Rd., and continue another 2 miles to the
Bort
Meadow Staging Area (also called Big Trees).
