This Saturday, the Half Marathon Training Program officially begins! We will kickoff 2015 and the half marathon program with a run on the Bay Bridge Trail.
We will meet at the parking lot at Burma Road and Maritime Street at 8:00 and start running by 8:15. To get there, take West Grand Ave towards the Bay Bridge and Port of Oakland, turn left on Maritime St, and right on Burma Road. The parking lot is on the right.
Half marathoners will run out 3 miles (almost to the end) and return for a 6 mile run. Marathoners will run a bit farther on the bridge and return, then run the Bay Trail along the Emeryville Marina to Berkeley and back for 15 miles.
Remember to bring water and fuel! There is no drinking water along the Bay Bridge Trail. There are no restrooms at the start (there are porta-potties at the base of the Bay Bridge, but not in the parking lot where we'll meet).
